AP Racing Pro 5000R Install, 991.2 GT3 Cup
Our relationship with Essex Parts and AP Racing goes back nearly a decade (over?)- it was only a matter of time before we collaborated on something that combined the best of what we had to offer- for us, our 991 Cup- for them, their legendary PRO 5000R Radi-Cal Competition brake kit.
Our priorities are performance, compatibility, and consumable cost, which we’re able to achieve with AP Racing.
The performance benefit is undisputed, with their long and successful history in motor racing, compatibility is a huge gain for us as we run the same set up on multiple Apex Club cars.

OE Steering rack R/R, 991.2 GT3 Cup
Pre-track service for our 991 Cup. As we move the rack back and forth to circulate fluid through the system, we get a great look at the AP Racing kit on our 991 Cup- the contours unique to this caliper shape are much more apparent with some movement and a change of perspective- the ENP (electroless nickel plated) finish adds another layer of visual interest that makes this brake package bring as much as to the table for looks as it does for performance.
Parts used:
OE steering rack assembly from Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA)
Pentosin CHF 11S
Road Atlanta private event and shakedown, 991.2 GT3 Cup
Our first track running was down at Road Atlanta for a private event for a repeat client who has requested rare Porsche GT cars previously for a similar event to the one she was holding currently.
We sourced the car and performed track prep at our facility, then loaded up for Braselton, GA in the 6-car hauler along with the other cars requested for the weekend.
The fleet included the following cars, all equipped with AP Racing disks as standard.
